Issue/Introduction

We are installing a new EEM and were planning on using a new / different eiamadmin password as compared to the existing EEM we have in place.

Will this cause any problem when we perform import from the older / existing EEM as part of a migration?

Does AutoSys or WCC store the eiamadmin password for EEM in their databases?

Environment

Release : 12.0

Component : CA Workload Automation AE (AutoSys)

Resolution

The EiamAdmin password is stored in the EEM database but it is NOT exported/imported if you use the EEM UI or safex to export, and then safex to import the applications/users/groups/policies.

The only way EiamAdmin's id/password would be carried over from one EEM host to another would be if you used the dxdumpdb and dxloaddb commands, as they are a complete copy of the EEM db.

You can safely export your polices from your existing older EEM and import them without issue, your new eiamadmin password would remain in tact.

AutoSys and WCC do store the eiamadmin password and certificates for their EEM servers in their environment.

If the eem host name or passwords are changing then AutoSys and WCC will need to be reconfigured to point to the new EEM.
