Issue/Introduction

What is the setting to review if I am seeing problems with data partitioning or role access for web services based interactions?  The web services user is assigned a role that should have sufficient permissions, but the user is being denied access to SDM content.

Environment

Release : 14.1 and higher

Component : SERVICE DESK MANAGER

Resolution

For the Access Type that the Web Services API User is assigned in their contact record, access the Administration tab, Security and Role Management, Access Types, select the given Access Type, then on the Roles tab, verify the Role setting for "SOAP Web Service API Role" and "REST Web Service API Role".

Please set these two entries to either "Administrator" Role or a role that doesn't have the given Data partition defined.
