Analytics: Potgresql 11/12/13+ compatibility

Issue/Introduction

According to the documentation, only versions 9 and 10 are supported with Analytics on version 12.3

However, there are now some newer versions of PostgreSQl, e.g. 11, 12 and 13.

Are these versions Supported and if not, from when will they be Supported?

 

Environment

Release : 12.3

Component : ANALYTICS ON PREMISE

Cause

Compatibility matrix not showing compatibility with newer Postgresql versions with Analytics.

Resolution

Versions 12.3 and inferior of Automic/Analytics only support Postgresql 9/10.

However, the next major version (v21) that should be released by mid 2021, includes a new Analytics on Premise version that supports Postgresql 11 but since it required a big technical change (the underlying framework had to be updated) it will not be released for v12.3.x or inferior.

Our teams have noted that compatibility with higher versions 12 and 13 should also be checked, normally this framework should allow the compatibility without additional changes but will need to be properly tested.
