After the application of maintenance the MSM Tomcat fails to start with ABEND=S000 U4038 REASON=00000001

Issue/Introduction

After the application of maintenance (CA RS 2002) the MSM Tomcat task fails to start with a ABEND=S000 U4038 REASON=00000001.

Also, a system dump occurs: USER COMPLETION CODE=4039 REASON CODE=00000000

Cause

The wrong JVM program (JVMLDM80) was specified on the 'PGM=' statement.  The Tomcat output shows:

CEE3588S A call was made to a function in the AMODE 64 DLL libjvm.so from an AMODE 31 caller.

Resolution

Specifying JVMLDM86 for the JVM program instead of JVMLDM80 corrected the ABEND=S000 U4038 REASON=00000001 (and U4039) abend error condition.
