Issue/Introduction

PREP_PROCESS file attends to read a file, to which the user has access rights set via posix ACL, for example with 'setfacl -m u:user:rwx /<filename>'

Following error is returned in the logs:

==============================================================================================

U00029003 Cannot open file '<filename>(ReadFileAuthority())', error code '0', error description: 'Success'.

==============================================================================================

Environment

Release : 12.3  Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Resolution

This is by design. ACL is not considered by PREP_PROCESS_FILE, only standard system rights are considered.

The documentation has been updated accordingly.

Important!

  • PREP_PROCESS_FILE only works with OS Agents. Do not use the function in combination with Agents for databases, Oracle applications, PeopleSoft, SAP, JMX, or Rapid Automation.
  • (UNIX) Permissions that are set by using ACL commands are not considered.
  • Processing large files affects the performance of the Agent.
