Issue/Introduction

What the administrators can do to prevent Service Catalog users from creating new messages? This tech doc explains how to create a deny policy so non service delivery admin users can't create new messages.

Environment

Release : 17.3, 17.2, 17.1

Component : CA SERVICE CATALOG

Resolution

Follow these steps

--log into EEM web page as eiamadmin and "Service Catalog" application

--click on "Manage Access Policies" and then "Guinode" folder

--click on the second creation icon to create a new explicit deny policy

--enter any proper name for the policy and enter these two

guinode__messagenewsaddframe

in resource list

then under "Enter/Search Identities" choose  type "Dynamic Group" and enter the following groups

ca_catalog_enduser
ca_catalog_enduserR
ca_catalog_catalogenduser
ca_catalog_catalogenduserR
ca_catalog_smaenduser
ca_catalog_requestmanager
ca_catalog_requestmanagerR

save the new policy

--recycle Service Catalog

Now all users except service delivery administrators will not be able to create new messages
