Decommissioning an old DRAS for Dispatch repository with OM Web Viewer 12.1

Issue/Introduction

Running Dispatch™ 11.7 and DRAS on mainframe on one system for Output Managment Document Viewer 2.1 (DVPC) 

Installed OM Web Viewer 12.1 on USS  with a new DRAS STC on another system to replace Document Viewer

Currently running both systems in parallel with no issues

As more end users start to use Web Viewer, we will decommission the old system for DVPC, but what of the old DRAS STC? Will decommissioning it affect the new system and its DRAS?

In Web Viewer 12.1, the new DRAS is defined to the Dispatch repository AND the old DRAS is defined to the same repository as an "Alternate" location.

• Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
• Output Management Document Viewer 2.1
• DRAS
• Dispatch™

Resolution

The new DRAS is defined to a repository, but the old DRAS is defined as an alternate location. In that configuration, there would be no impact on the Web Viewer 12.1 or to the users UNLESS the new DRAS is some reason unavailable. In such a scenario, Web Viewer would be unable to failover/fallback to the old DRAS.
