WEB Client not able to connect

Issue/Introduction

Below error is occurring:

 

Communication error. Please check the host IP addess or port number. Then try the action again.   We have the below error in SAMS*   VAN0850E TCP/IP Request: INITAPI       failed, ERRNO=  1011               GENTCPSV FAILED DURING INITIALIZATION                                     VAN1560I Pools Component Started                                         VAN0842I TCP/IP Interface successfully shut down         Even updating the correct TCP task getting same error.

Release : 14.0

Component : CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager

Resolution

This is due to new IP addresses from the new Lpars. A modification of the HOST definition into the Vantagedb is needed.

Connect using APP user into the Vantagedb, in case you need to find its password, go to the correct Web Client installation OMVS path into the install directory .

Then locate the file vantagegmi.log at its bottom you will find the password to use with APP userid.
Once the modification for the host IP addresses were done, all the connection will work fine.
