20.2.3 SDC TrapX forward traps to multiple hostnames

Issue/Introduction

Using the hostnames in the trapX.config forward statement to forward the traps to different SpectroSERVER boxes eg.

filter * * * * * * forward host1.wob.vwg translate_v3_traps:1:xyz
filter * * * * * * forward host2.wob.vwg translate_v3_traps:1:xyz
filter * * * * * * forward host3.wob.vwg translate_v3_traps:1:xyz
filter * * * * * * forward host4.wob.vwg translate_v3_traps:1:xyz 
 
the traps will be sent to the last hostname (in this case host4.wob.vwg) and in the in the sdmLog.log in debug mode you will see the 4 filters with the IP address of the last hostname.

Resolution

work-around: use the IP addresses instead of hostnames in trapX.config file forward statements.

Engineering planned to fix this issue in the next Spectrum release that should be released in January 2021
