We are moving iDash server to new datacenter, we are expecting to bring iDash server down for 4 hours, will data be lost for that period of time or does it get queued and added when it is back online?
Release : 12.1
Component : CA WORKLOAD AUTOMATION iDASH FOR CA 7
If you are running CA7 using ENF on the mainframe, catching up from a 4 hour gap is iffy. If the CA7 is not very busy, it can do, but if it's busy it might not be able to. If you switched over to Logger on the mainframe, catching up for a four hour period is no problem at all.
If you are running in Autosys, as long as the data is still in the AE DB, it will get returned in the results from the query. Most customers have at least a couple of days worth of data in the AE DB. As long as iDash comes back up before that amount of data rolls over, there will be no gaps in the run history.
With that said, the SLAs whose deadlines are reached during that downtime are not processed retroactively. If the SLA is still in its end processing time, there can be a status displayed after that passes, it's like the SLA never happened.
