Issue/Introduction

After deploying a custom Dashboard module, you may encounter a blank error screen when the Dashboard is loaded within a user profile (for both normal users and administrators). This issue indicates a missing configuration dependency required to render the Dashboard components correctly.

Environment

  • Identity Manager/Identity Suite 14.x
  • Virtual Appliance (vApp)

Cause

The Dashboard module architecture has a mandatory dependency on the "My Requests" module. If the "My Requests" module is disabled, hidden, or unavailable to the user, the Dashboard module fails to initialize, resulting in a blank error screen.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must ensure that the "My Requests" module is active and properly assigned:

  1. Log in to the Identity Portal Administrative Console.
  2. Navigate to the Module Management or Configuration section where your dashboard and modules are defined.
  3. Locate the "My Requests" module in the module list.
  4. Verify that the "My Requests" module is enabled and assigned to the user roles (or the "All Users" profile) that are experiencing the blank error screen.
  5. Save your changes and refresh the user dashboard to verify the fix.
