DBUTLTY BACKUP gets DB13001E - UNEXPECTED RC 69 (71)

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to 15.1, a DBUTLTY BACKUP (SEQ=PHY) of an application database has been failing:

  DB13001E - UNEXPECTED RETURN CODE 69 (71) INDEX NOT LOADED FOR TABLE   

This DBUTLTY job follows an update program which completes successfully. Prior to this job another job updates and backs up the same database and areas successfully. After a RETIX, the BACKUP job completes correctly

Resolution

DBUTLTY History report shows that another job was loading the same area of the same database while the BACKUP job was running. Moving the DBUTLTY LOAD job after the back up job completed resolved the problem.
