Websphere probe connection is successful but receive Server Not responding - ADMN0022E: Access is denied

Issue/Introduction

Test connection is successful but "Server not responding" is reported when the probe attempts to get the inventory.

 

During the troubleshooting steps we was able to see this error in the Websphere log:

Mar 12 13:29:42:481 [nimclient, websphere] Error in cbGetKeys, reason: (1500) , Connection problem, reason: javax.management.JMRuntimeException: ADMN0022E: Access is denied for the getStatsArray operation on Perf MBean because of insufficient or empty credentials.: ADMN0022E: Access is denied for the getStatsArray operation on Perf MBean because of insufficient or empty credentials.
Mar 12 13:29:42:481 [nimclient, websphere] Exit from cbGetKeysWebsphere for resourceName = xxxx Profile Name =xxxxx

 

 

Environment

Release : 20.4

IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.41 installed on on the Global Zone on Solaris 10
Websphere probe 1.82 on Robot 20.4

Resolution

The error in the Websphere log is a permission issue with the designated user for the websphere probe that needs to be address by the websphere admin so this is related to an authentication issue on the Websphere environment.
