MSP: 'An error occurred while opening CA PPM Project' - Clean Uninstall Needed

Issue/Introduction

We are getting the following error trying to open a project from Clarity to MS Project:

An error occurred while opening CA PPM Project in Microsoft Project. Please try again. 

Behind that error is a Target error: Project cannot open the file

We tried - Re installation of MSP connector - it did not work

Environment

Release : All Supported

Component : CA PPM MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP)

Cause

This can be due to some corruption with one or more of the MSP Interface components. 

Resolution

• Do a Clean Uninstall/Reinstall of the MSP Interface using the steps at: Clean Uninstall of the MSP Interface
• Also uninstall and reinstall Open Workbench if present on the machine
