Issue/Introduction

Description:

When trying to enable the TIM the following error is received:
"The TIM collection service must be assigned to an enterprise manager beforeyou can enable the monitor."

In CEM UI, when going to services TIM collection service is in a stopped state and the APM GUI gets the following error:
"Can't start/stop the child service because the TIM collection service is in'in progress' state. Please try after some time."

TIM collector log shows:
6/19/13 04:09:33.819 PM CDT [ERROR] [main] [Apm.Data.Model] APM Database is not reachable. Please check the connectivity...

What should we do?

Solution:

In APM cluster environment, there should only be ONE APMDB for all EM's including MOM and Collectors. In this case, since TIM collector is already installed, modifying tess-db-cfg.xml to point to existing APMDB that's installed by the MOM installer and restarting the collector should resolve the issue.
