SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

The Sysview Performance Management Option for Db2 for z/OS (IDB2) data collector experienced a looping condition that caused high CPU.

Cause

Per IDB2 PTF SO14843 problem description:

The SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS (IDB2)
data collector may go into a loop while processing IDB2 Accounting
data, if the HIST-ACCT-DETAIL SYSPARM uses the SQL or PDTSQL option.

This problem may occur if either PTF SO14016 or PTF SO14642 are applied.

Resolution

The application of PTF SO14843 is critical to resolve the IDB2 data collector looping condition. However, in the interim you can change
the SYSPARM HIST-ACCT-DETAIL as a circumvention. Remove the value 'PDTSQL' and / or 'SQL' or comment out the statement entirely.
You will no longer get the extended IDB2 accounting data if you comment it out, but that should resolve the error until the PTF SO14843 can be applied.
