Issue/Introduction

Attempting to enable the deferred file allocation feature in a processor and getting failures.

C1A0010E  ALLOCATION ERROR RC=1708-0002, DDNAME=ddname                         
C1A0011E  IKJ56228I DATA SET dataset.name NOT IN CATALOG OR CATALOG CANNOT BE ACCESSED

Resolution

Enable the following traces to identify the problem with deferred file creation:

//BSTERR  DD SYSOUT=*

//EN$TRAL0 DD SYSOUT=*       DYNAMIC DATASET ALLOC

//EN$TRDFC DD SYSOUT=*       DYNAMIC FILE ALLOCATION    

//EN$TRALC  DD SYSOUT=*     DYNAMIC ALLOCATION TRACE

 

Additional Information

This enhancement is supplied for 18.1 through PTF SO13082 and SO12441

The C1DEFLTS table needs the following parameter:

DFCMBR=member,                 PARMLIB DEFERRED FILE CREATION

The member in PARMLIB  that contains the deferred file creation member

The options trace (//EN$TROPT DD SYSOUT=*) will display the  deferred file creation table.
