Alerts triggered with IP-address instead of hostname

Issue/Introduction

We are receiving many alerts with IP-address instead of hostname as configured in probes. Please let us know how we can change the alert configuration, so that alert gets triggered with hostname instead of IP-addresses.

Environment

Release : 9.2.0

Component : UIM - ROBOT

Cause

- DNS resolution

Resolution

We expect the IP/host to be resolvable via DNS.

You can try this:

Add ip/name mappings in nas config window->Name Services tab for issue of IP address used as hostname in nas alarms..

Please check if hostname/ ip resolution exists for that ip

Can also try

nas -> Name Services -> Address Table

Can add / modify entry (ip address/ hostname) there if missing

Also can right click entry and lock.
