"SPM TEST HOST CONFIGURATION FAILURE - TOO MANY PROBES ON TEST HOST" alarm after upgrading to Spectrum 10.4.2

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to Spectrum 10.4.2, we are seeing the "SPM TEST HOST CONFIGURATION FAILURE - TOO MANY PROBES ON TEST HOST" alarm on our router models that are used for SPM tests.

Environment

Release : Spectrum 10.4.2 and 10.4.2.1

Component : Spectrum Performance Manager (SPM)

Cause

There was a code change in 10.4.2 causing Spectrum to think there are no active tests on the RTM_TestHost device. This causes Spectrum to create a new SPM test at the scheduled interval instead of running the existing test.

Resolution

The fix for this issue has been included in Spectrum 10.4.3 (aka 20.2.7) and above.
