Endpoint Protection client unable to communicate with Manager with error GetAdaptersAddresses() failed

Issue/Introduction

The Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client is unable to communicate with the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.  In the cve.log the following error is present

[ERROR] GetAdaptersAddresses() failed [111] [thread:2f04]

Environment

Excessive Virtual Network adapters all inactive and has an APIPA address except one active adapter.

Cause

Excessive amount of inactive network adapters.

Resolution

Remove additional network adapters that aren't used and check the client communication.
