Issue/Introduction

When trying to run the AdminPasswordReset utility on the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Enforce Server, the following error appears:

# ./AdminPasswordReset -dbpass xxxxxxxxxx -newpass xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Exception: Could not find property jvmDirectory

Environment

DLP 15.5 MP2
RHEL 7.8

Cause

The jvmDirectory path is missing or pointing to the wrong ServerJRE location in Configuration.txt.

Resolution

  1. On the Enforce Server, open Configuration.txt located in the /config/AdminPasswordReset directory.

    Example: If Enforce was installed using the default directories.
    /opt/Symantec/DataLossPrevention/EnforceServer/15.5/ Protect/config/AdminPasswordReset/Configuration.txt

  2. Verify jvmDirectory is pointing to the correct ServerJRE path.

    Example:
    jvmDirectory=/opt/Symantec/DataLossPrevention/ServerJRE/1.8.0_181
