Does the Agent Management Jobs and the CCS Ping follow routing rules that are set for the asset of that agent?

Environment

Release: 12.6.x

Components: Agent Management Job and CCS Ping

Resolution

You can monitor the health of multiple CCS agents using the Agent Management job (AMJ) and CCS Ping to test agent connectivity. When you run the job, CCS contacts the selected agents and determines the if the agent has connectivity to be able to run a CCS scan. If it does have connectivity, then the agent will be marked 'green' and scans can be run against that agent.  If the connection fails, or the agent is not responsive or down for maintenance, etc, then they agent will be marked 'red' and no Data Collection or Collection-Evaluation-Report (CER) job will be able to be run on that agent (it will be skipped).  The only way to get the agent to be marked 'green' is to run a successful AMJ or CCS ping.

Even though Assets are used to set Routing Rules, the Agent Management Job and CCS Ping will follow the routing rules for that agent's asset to use the correct managers to scan that agent for connectivity.

NOTE: The only exception that Agent Management Job and CCS pings will not follow are 'Site Based' routing rules which only work with Data Collection scans.
