Issue/Introduction

This article provides the steps to create a custom Global Alarm attribute and make it editable in the Alarms view/TAB.

Environment

Release : Any

Resolution

1. Stop the SpectroSERVER and create a custom Global Alarm attribute called Alarm Notes via MTE. The MTE is launched in the Spectrum Control Panel (SCP)  à  Configure  à  Model Type Editor

Take note of the new Attribute ID (in my case is 0xffff0004), save the change, and start the SpectroSERVER.

2. Create the $SPECROOT/custom/alarm/config/alarm-table-config.xml file in the OneClick web server machine as follow:

3. Launch the OneClick console again and generate a new alarm. You should see the set link to edit the Alarm Notes field/column for the new alarm. You won't see the set link for the old alarms.

Note: Don't forget to make an OnLineBackup (OLB) of the SSdb database after you added the custom alarm attribute via MTE.

Note: In a DSS (Distributed SpectroSERVER) environment (multiples landscapes) the Modeling Catalog must be synchronized, each landscape must contain an identical Modeling Catalog.
