Issue/Introduction

This article provides a potential solution for an issue while configuring MCS profiles via the Operator Console in DX UIM 20.3.

Resolution

The security.cfg file contains all security data: users, passwords, ACLs and probe permissions.

All hubs have a security.cfg file and all hubs sync to the highest version number.

Due to a security.cfg file corruption this resulted in an MCS error in the Operator Console. 

Use the following KB to recover the security.cfg and then re-test the MCS scenario.

Additional Information

  • NimBUS users can copy mcs profiles between any two groups only if they have all permissions.
  • Account-Contact users can copy mcs profiles between any two groups that were created by someone within their account.
  • In either case, if the conditions are not met or the profile already exists in the target group, the same error will pop up.
