Symantec Identity Manager - How to upgrade CCS / C++ connector server to the latest CP

Issue/Introduction

If your CCS / C++ connector server is on a remote machine there are no steps to upgrade it to the lastest CP. Below are the steps to upgrade it to the latest CP.

Environment

Release : 14.3CP2

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Resolution

IF CCS on REMOTE MACHINE:

NOTE: On extracting "CP-IMPS-140300-0002.tar.gz" --> we see "improvisioning.zip" --> extract the zip and copy folders in "bin" and "data" folders as mentioned below.

1) Stop all instances of your Identity Manager CCS Servers installed on remote machines.

2) Take backup of "bin" folder from "<CCS INSTALLED LOCATION>".

3) Copy the provided "bin" folder to "<CCS INSTALLED LOCATION>".

4) Take backup of "acfparse.ptt", "adsparse.ptt", "dynparse.ptt", "etrust_ads.schema", "etrust_dyn.schema" and "eTrustOID.INI" files from "<CCS INSTALLED LOCATION>"/data".

5) Copy the provided "acfparse.ptt", "adsparse.ptt", "dynparse.ptt", "etrust_ads.schema", "etrust_dyn.schema" and "eTrustOID.INI" files to "<CCS INSTALLED LOCATION>"/data".

7) Start all instances of your Identity Manager CCS Servers installed on remote machines.

The newer CP's now include the proper steps for applying current patches to the CCS. Use this guide as a template.
