CA DISK Backup and Restore - Daily DMS GDG Copy Job now completing RC=08

Issue/Introduction

Running a daily DMS Job, that copies all GDGs,

It normally gets a RC=04 in the DMS step since it finds DSNs that are archived.  

Suddenly it is failingRC=08 on every run

Resolution

The output from DMS shows: 

ADSST202 4016 VOLUME=SPAR43 BYPASSED, VTOC OPEN FAILED

Reason:
The VTOC Open for volume (vvvvvv) or offline unit (uuuu) failed with RC=08 and the volume was bypassed.
Action:
Check the VTOC for volume (vvvvvv) or unit(uuuu). One possibility for an online volume is that the device might have to be varied off-line and back online.
