Issue/Introduction

You may encounter an ORA-01653 error when performing actions in the Identity Manager user console. This error indicates that the database tablespace associated with your Identity Manager object store has reached its maximum capacity.

Environment

  • Product: Identity Manager
  • Release: 14.x
  • Database: Oracle

Cause

The error occurs because the tablespace IAMOBJECT_P_2_DATA has run out of available space to extend the table IAMOBJECT_P_2.TASKSESSION12_5.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must increase the capacity of your tablespace. You can achieve this by adding a new datafile or resizing an existing one.

Step 1: Identify existing datafile details

Run the following SQL query to verify the current datafile location and size: SELECT FILE_NAME, BYTES FROM DBA_DATA_FILES WHERE TABLESPACE_NAME = 'IAMOBJECT_P_2_DATA';

Step 2: Expand the tablespace

Based on your database storage policy, proceed with one of the following administrative actions:

  1. Add a new datafile: Add a new file to the tablespace to provide additional storage.
  2. Resize an existing datafile: Increase the size of the current datafile if your storage volume has available capacity.

Note: For specific commands related to adding or resizing datafiles, consult your organization's Oracle Database Administrator (DBA).
