CA View - S613-24 Error Received in SARSTC with Tape Backup

Issue/Introduction

If a production database is copied for use at a DR exercise, next View backup to run could have a S613-24 error occur because it was requesting the last used backup tape, which would only be available at the production site:

Resolution

The S613-24 error was received because a View tape at the production site was being requested in a backup, however the tape was not available at the DR site.

To correct the matter, please do the following:

. On the DR database, change the SARINIT STORGRP0 parameter, to have a different esoteric:

. . STORGRP0=//nnnnn/unit-p,/,

    where unit-p points to an esoteric used at the DR site.

. Recycle the View SARSTC task, with "/P sarstc", then "/S sarstc,OPT=STOPBU".

. Issue command "/F sarstc,NEW" to run a backup to a new tape.

With the above, the SARSTC task will be active, with no knowledge of the previous backup, and the subsequent backup request will run with no problems.
