Client Automation - Software Inventory in Error on RedHat Enterprise Linux 8.2

Issue/Introduction

On RedHat Enteprise Linux 8.2 (64 bits), Software Inventory (Signature Scan) is in ERROR

 

Environment

Client Automation 14.0 SP3

ITCM Linux Agent (64 Bits) on RedHat Enterprise Linux 8.2, 8.5 or 8.6

 

Cause

The file /lib64/libnsl.so.1 is missing and is needed by amfsux and caevmscli :

/opt/CA/DSM/Agent/AM/plugin/amfsux
/opt/CA/DSM/Agent/AM/plugin/amfsux: error while loading shared libraries: libnsl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

/opt/CA/SharedComponents/bin/caevmscli
/opt/CA/SharedComponents/bin/caevmscli: error while loading shared libraries: libnsl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

 

Resolution

Install the library libnsl 64 bits on the RHEL 8.x machine and check if it resolves the problem.

 

- package libnsl-2.28-101.el8.x86_64.rpm in iso RHEL 8.2

- package libnsl-2.28-164.el8.x86_64.rpm in iso RHEL 8.5

- package libnsl-2.28-189.1.el8.x86_64.rpm in iso RHEL 8.6
