Unable to aggregate fields - System Error in Custom Porlet

Issue/Introduction

When trying to aggregate by using the sum function I get an error message 'System error. Contact system administrator' in a custom portlet

Cause

This can be due to a design issue with the custom portlet.

Check with your portlet developer / designer to have them fix the issue.
