Issue/Introduction

What is the procedure to move the IP's of an associated PAM cluster to new ones.

Environment

Release : 3.3.x and 3.4.x

Component : PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Resolution

Assuming all DNS servers have been properly updated, the procedure would be:

(Before doing anything -> please have backups/snapshots)

  1. Shutdown the cluster
  2. Go to VMware Console for each server and update the network settings (Basic Network Settings and Interface Network Settings)
  3. After completing the above step -> choose restart networking
  4. Log into solution again
  5. Confirm network settings -> PAM UI -> Configuration -> Network -> Network Settings -> Here confirm that the IP address is correct and you have the correct DNS server as well.
  6. Do this for all systems in your cluster
  7. Log into your Primary Master
    PAM UI -> Configuration -> Clustering -> Global Setting -> Here you will go into your Sites and Update the IP addresses and/or servernames as well.
  8. Save Locally and to the Cluster as well.
  9. Start the Cluster
