Database Copier for IMS for z/OS DATABASE MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS FOR IMS FOR Z/OS

Issue/Introduction

We are advised that a DBOLOAD DD can be used to specify non-APF authorized libraries for the IMS tools.
However there is no mention of the DBOLOAD DD in the Database Copier Reference Guide.

Will Database Copier recognize and use the DBOLOAD or is it ignored?

Resolution

DBOLOAD is specifically for libraries that contain randomizer and user exits. These libraries are generally not APF authorized.
As non-APF authorized libraries are not permitted in the STEPLIB concatenation these particular libraries can be defined in a DBOLOAD DD instead.

Database Copier does not use randomizer or exit programs so it will ignore the DBOLOAD DD if defined.
