Issue/Introduction

On panel PPPQEEO6 - PPA Quick Explain - Explain Options, user enters Primary AUTHID and Secondary AUTHID values and then issue the SAVE command expecting the values to be saved in his user profile.

The values entered are not saved in spite of the message PP095I: Your current Explain Options have been saved in your ISPF profile.

User is forced to re-enter those values each time a new explain is being performed.

Per the help panel…

COMMAND     : SAVE

DESCRIPTION : The SAVE command allows you to save the current Explain Options to your ISPF profile.  The Explain Options for a newly created Explain strategy are initially set to these profiled values.

Also, when you perform a Quick Explain, the Explain Options are initially set to these values.

Environment

Release : 20.0

Component : CA Plan Analyzer for DB2 for z/OS

Resolution

Use of explain profile overrides user's ISPF profile settings. User needs to clear the Profile field so it is blank. With the Profile field blanked out, PPA will read the user's ISPF profile settings and they should see the saved explain options on their screen. If you want to use the explain profile to control their explain options, you need to update your profile via the EP Explain Profile Maintenance (option from the PPA main menu) and update the options with their settings.
