Does Identity Manager support multi-tenancy

Issue/Introduction

There is a request to have Identity Manager a multi-tenancy configuration, is this supported.

Environment

Release : 14.X

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Resolution

The product does not support multi-tenancy. It does support failover and MW replication but multi-tenancy is known to cause issues within the application and it is not supported.

One main reason is that inbound notifications on the provisioning directory will not be able to determine which IME to point to. This would then cause data inconsistency and possible bleeding of user data between the two environments.

It is best to have two separate environments for stability and recognition. 

Machine 1:

• Identity Manager Server 1 (Environment 1)
• User Store 1 (Connected to Environment1)
• Provisioning Server 1
• Provisioning Directory 1 (Connected to Environment1)
• Connector Server 1

Machine 2:

• Identity Manager Server 2 (Environment 2)
• User Store 2 (Connected to Environment 2)
• Provisioning Server 2
• Provisioning Directory 2 (Connected to Environment 2)
• Connector Server 2
