Issue/Introduction

Description:

Users may experience problems starting ENFSNMPM. The job will attempt to initialize but terminate immediately after issuing the following message:

 IEF403I ENFSNMPM - STARTED - TIME=09.54.49
 BPXM023I (ENFSNMPM) Parameters not supported in Version 3.0.
 IEF404I ENFSNMPM - ENDED - TIME=09.54.49

Solution:

Unlike previous releases and beginning with r14.0, ENFSNMPM no longer accepts PARMS on the startup. Rather ENFSNMPM expects configuration information to passed either be in the ENVVARS or CONFIG DD's. In order to start ENFSNMPM via CCI SPNPARMS and adhere to this change, you need to specify PARM=! to indicate that no parms are to be passed along with the start command. Therefore, if you are using CCI SPNPARMS to start the ENFSNMPM task, please see the following guideline.

In the CAW0OPTN (&SPNPARM) member found on the //SPNPARM DD, make the following change to the PROCNAME parm:
 	    from:
ENFSNMPM SERVICE SERVER_NAME=MVS_START_SERVER,
     SERVICE START=SPAWN_ONLY,
     SIGNON=SERVICE,
     MAX#_PROCESSES=1
     PROCESS PROCESS_TYPE=MVS_STC,
     PROCNAME=ENFSNMPM
 	    to:
ENFSNMPM SERVICE SERVER_NAME=MVS_START_SERVER,
     SERVICE START=SPAWN_ONLY,
     SIGNON=SERVICE,
     MAX#_PROCESSES=1
     PROCESS PROCESS_TYPE=MVS_STC,
     PROCNAME=ENFSNMPM,PARM=!
