Issue/Introduction

When trying to save a report from the Web Viewer Interface, I noticed save is not available for reports that are archived on tape

It is possible to go to the SAR mainframe interface, and Load the output from tape to disk, and then Save is available, but is there an option to print the report directly from the Web Interface?

Resolution

The save and print options are disabled in Web Viewer for recallable reports. The only action that can be performed without recalling the report is the email (which only emails a link to the report).

For the other actions the report needs to be recalled. The open and export actions can be used to initiate a recall by issuing message CAHATPR02 – you need to have some automation in place as described in the Automate the Recall of Offline Reports section of the documentation. 

Additional Information

To perform actions directly to reports on tape you would need to use the EAS feature/option of CA View which permits access without having to recall.
