Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Encryption Removable Media Encryption has a feature that allows files and folders to be encrypted and burned to optical media such as CD\DVD\Bluray disks.  There have been some reports in very rare circumstances some of the files are getting randomly corrupted so that the files cannot be opened properly.

Environment

Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.3.0 and previous

Resolution

If you currently encounter this issue, please contact Symantec Support for assistance and to gather more information on this issue.

The workaround to this issue is to burn another disk and typically this will burn without corrupting any files.  It is then necessarily to validate all the files will open after they are burned and encrypted.
