Issue/Introduction

Is there a way to retrieve the data for Smarttrace? 
The trace was inactivated before saving and the information no longer shows up in the smarttrace panels but is displayed in the log. Please advise.

Release : 12.2

Component : CA NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Resolution

If you run a Smarttrace and it ends, you either need to save it, or the Trace Expiry parameter in your SMARTTRACE parameter group determines how long it is held.  The default is one hour.

You can increase that time, but just be aware that, depending on how many traces you run, a longer save time may have storage ramifications.

We do have some customers who have that value set to 24 hours or more at times if they need to run traces over the weekend and have them available for review the next week. You can change it dynamically as needed.

Unfortunately, there is no way to retrieve a trace once it has been deleted.
