Issue/Introduction
Additional memory (RAM) is being added to the nodes in our Data Repository cluster.
Is there anything that needs to be done to Vertica or the database to configure it to use the additional memory?
Cause
Server requires additional memory resources to improve performance.
Environment
All supported Performance Management releases
Resolution
No manual changes are needed. When the database is restarted it will automatically recognize and allocate use of the available memory as needed.
Additional Information
Before the servers are brought down for the memory increase, ensure the database is stopped. This helps ensure it will restart properly after the server is restarted.
Before the servers are brought down for the memory increase, ensure a valid database save is present for restoration if needed.
