Issue/Introduction

We want to know if it is possible to define jobs in a contentious integration and continuous delivery environment so that job definitions, modifications, removals can be automated. Are there other ways this can be accomplished?

Please find below the answer to each of your questions:

Q1: We are thinking of having JIL-files or templates checked into source control, and then let the build server deploy changes to AutoSys.

R1: This is a fairly common technique used by AutoSys customers. It works with all versions. In AutoSys 12.0, we introduced a REST web service that could also be used to do this. It’s advantage is that there is no need to deploy an AutoSys client.

Q2: Are there other ways this can be accomplished?”

R2: As mentioned above. AutoSys 12.0 provides REST web services which would work from anywhere HTTP communication is available.
