Issue/Introduction

How can I prevent VNA from creating memory dumps?

Environment

Virtual Network Assurance For CA Performance Management 3.7

Resolution

1. First we must stop wildfly: service wildfly stop / systemctl stop wildfly

2. Update the /opt/CA/VNA/wildfly/bin/standalone.conf file, by looking for the following line:

JAVA_OPTS="-Xms256m -Xmx$VNA_MAX_MEM -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError -XX:HeapDumpPath=/opt/CA/VNA"

... and change it to:

JAVA_OPTS="-Xms256m -Xmx$VNA_MAX_MEM -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -XX:-HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError"

3. Finally, restart wildfly: service wildfly start / systemctl start wildfly

Your VNA will now no longer create dump files if it runs out of memory
