Report capacity and maximum size for Clarity Reports

Issue/Introduction

Running Jaspersoft reports from both Reports and Jobs and Advanced Reporting and hitting a size issue due to maximum page limit set in Clarity - Advanced Reporting and Clarity - Reports and Jobs 

Resolution

• The page limit applies equally to reports ran from Reports and Jobs and Advanced Reporting.
• If while running the report from reports and jobs the error the report is too large or exceeding the page limits while running via reports and jobs then the error message will be in the app-ca.logs.
• As per the default design. Jaspersoft Studio Reports (regardless of how they are run) will have the page limit as 500 pages, in a regular single Jaspersoft server environment (non-clustered)
• This is the default and recommended design
• In clustered Jaspersoft environments having additional Jaspersoft server nodes which can run as a scheduler node, the customers can increase the page limit to 1000.
• That way they get the following combination depending on how they run the report:
  • Non-Scheduled (Run in Immediate mode) Reports - 500 page limit
  • Scheduled Reports - 1,000 page limit
• As a best practice it is not recommend to increase the page limit (governor limit) for Jaspersoft servers as there can be performance issues in production environments. For adjusting the Jaspersoft report properties for a scheduler node please check the Broadcom Documentation
