Cannot sync Agile Initiatives to Clarity - Unable to edit "Portfolio item external ID"

Issue/Introduction

• For a clarity project, I cannot edit the "portfolio item external ID" field under the "properties --> Agile Summary" page to sync up a Rally Agile Initiative to a Clarity project.
• This was working prior to the v15.8 upgrade, so it seems this is broken on the Clarity side.

Release : All Supported Releases

Component : CA PPM SAAS RALLY

Cause

Upgrades may override "customized' settings back to a default, as out of the box, this field is set to read only. 

Resolution

To update this field to be editable again from the Agile Summary page (or applicable project page):

1. In Clarity go to Administration->Objects->Project->Attributes
2. Click on the Portfolio Item External ID (Initiative external ID in earlier releases) attribute
3. Uncheck 'Read only'
4. Click Save

To make this field editable from the project list column view (if applicable)

1. Go to Home->Projects
2. Click on Options->Configure
3. From the List Column Section tab drop down, select Fields
4. Click on the properties icon for Portfolio Item External ID
5. Check 'Allow editing'
6. Save changes
