Issue/Introduction

Deployed UMA Agent for a development Kubernetes cluster. However, noticed several pods where the Java Auto-Instrumentation is not working due to a missing tools.jar file from the JRE being used.

How do we instrument a JVM that is running solely on a JRE (i.e. without a tools.jar) ?

Error looks like below:
Tools.jar not packaged for this JVM - Skipping agent load for Process 98 in container ....

Environment

Release : SAAS 

Component : UMA 20.6.0.28

Cause

Per Product Management, UMA doesn't guaranteed automatically instrument every JVM. Limitations do exist.

Resolution

 ER is needed to resolve current limitations.
