Issue/Introduction

Attempting to issue a PURGE command against a CICS transaction.

The following confirmation message appears:
GSVX160A Enter YES to confirm: PURGE TRAN CSKL TASK 46 JOBNAME CICSM4

but after answering YES, I get this:
SECU008E Command not authorized for CICSTRAN CSKL

We don't use external security. I am in a security group that should allow this command:

Command  Sub-Cmd  Access Alter CmdGroup   Description
CICSSET    PURGE      AL       YES                     Purge transaction

Environment

SYSVIEW R15 and later

Resolution

The SYSVIEW Administrator will have the authorization to make the internal Security updates to SYSVIEW.
The administrator will need to perform the following to allow authority to Purge transactions:

1) From SYSVIEW Security determine the user group that the end user is in, and then select that User Group.

2) Select the Resources Section as in example below:

Cmd Section_Name
         Miscellaneous Section
         User IDs Section
         Commands Section
         Command Groups Section
         Command Fields Section
         Jobnames Section
 s       Resources Section
         External Security Section

3) From here, tab down to and select CICSTRAN as in the example below:

Cmd   Resource Description
   s     CICSTRAN CICS Transactions
          CICSTSQ CICS Temporary Storage Queues
          CICSVAR CICS Resource Variables

4) From here, set the authorization for a specific CICS transaction, or set the authorizations to cover all CICS transactions as in the example below:

Resource-Value Access Actions
newresource
= A ALTER,CANCEL,DISABLE,ENABLE,
FORCE,PURGE

Once the update(s) are complete, back completely out of Security, and have any user affected log out and back into SYSVIEW to pick up the changes.
