Duplicate services are created in Windows Services for Clarity

Issue/Introduction

Two beacon and NSA server services showing up in Windows - Services listings. Why is there a duplicate, and how to remove it?

Release : Any

Component : CA PPM INTEGRATIONS & INSTALLATIONS

Resolution

The Service you are seeing in Administrative Services in Windows is just a "wrapper", that gets deployed based on the Java service.

Those Windows Services are added and deployed every time you use the "service add" command.

So please try the following:

service stop remove all

service add app bg nsa beacon

service deploy start all

See if this corrects it. Sometimes a server restart is also required to fully remove the registry references.
