Issue/Introduction

After upgrading from ITMS 8.5 RU2 to RU4, the following section is very slow to load:

Manage>Assets>Manage Configuration Items>Computers and Peripherals>Computer

This is happening with any user, Symantec Admin or not.

Cause

Known issue. The "PickerReports.config" (Under "<install drive>\Program Files\Altiris\CMDB\Config\AssetContractCommon\Reports") contains a slow section in one of the queries used that needed to be optimized for customers with a large number of Cost Centers in Asset Management. 

Environment

ITMS 8.5 RU4

Resolution

This issue has been reported to the Symantec Development team. A fix has been added to ITMS 8.6 release.

In order to validate if you have the same issue, run the attached "AllComputers (Original).sql" in Microsoft SQL Management Studio against your Symantec_CMDB database. If it takes more than 2 minutes to return results, then run the attached "AllComputers (ver 1).sql". If it takes less than 2-3 seconds, then you have the reported issue.
