Issue/Introduction

Which connector is used to open a project (Open Workbench (OWB) or Microsoft Project (MSP)) if you have both installed on your client machine / workstation?

Environment

Release : All Supported Releases

Component : CA PPM MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP)

Resolution

Which connector is used to open a project is based on the Scheduler Format defined for the project in Clarity:

  • In 15.7 and lower the Scheduler Format options available are:
    1. Open Workbench
    2. Microsoft Project
  • Starting in 15.7.1, the Scheduler Format options available are:
    1. Open Workbench
    2. Microsoft Project Bidirectional
      • This is the option that is available in all lower versions as Microsoft Project
      • If you are upgrading from an earlier release all projects that had a scheduler format of Microsoft Project will show this
    3. Microsoft Project Lightweight (New in 15.7.1)
    4. Microsoft One way (New in 15.7.1)
  • To check/change the Scheduler format for a project, see KB: 51879
