Issue/Introduction

A user with limited privileges created a dashboard (NOT under 'My Dashboards), how can it be shared when it's not under 'Available Dashboards'?

Environment

DX NetOps CA Performance Management (CAPM) all releases

Resolution

Unfortunately, without the following role priveledges a user themselves is unable to create a shared dashboard visible to others themselves:

  • Administer Shared Dashboards

  • Administer Menus

  • Save Changes to Shared Views

This also has the side consequence of having a user that can do some additional administrative level tasks such as edit other user's dashboards.

With the way the Role Rights are currently configured, the only alternative is to temporarily swap the user to a higher elevated role such as Administrator and have the dashboard be copied in this elevated state while saving the reports int he dashboard for "All Tenant Users".

Additional Information

A role to look at for a starting point is "Designer" as outlined here:
