Issue/Introduction

Inside the "Data Importer" module, importing a text file that contains characters with accents can in certain circumstances read them incorrectly.

Environment

Release : 17.2

Component : CA Asset Portfolio Management

Resolution

To avoid importing junk characters for Spanish characters by default, one should install ITAM on Windows Server Spanish locale. Then create an import with Data File Locale= Spanish and use the data file to import.

However, if the server has already been installed in US English locale, there is another option. You may fix this problem by following the below steps:

1. Open the data.csv file in Notepad

2. Go to File -> Save As

3. In the save prompt window, choose encoding as UTF-8 and Click Save.

4. Use this file to import the Object.
